Recently, Sindh Machining completed a project that perfectly illustrates our end-to-end capabilities, moving from a simple hand-drawn sketch to a high-precision, optimized plastic component.
Our client approached us with a specific challenge. They had a clear concept for a threaded probe-like component but only had a hand-drawn sketch with basic dimensions and annotations. While many shops require finalized CAD files to even start a quote, Sindh Machining welcomes ideas at any stage. Our first priority was to understand the functional requirements: the 1/2 NPT threads, the specific 140mm length, and the internal step-drilling requirements.
A sketch is a start, but manufacturing requires absolute precision. Our mechanical engineers translated the client’s drawing into a formal technical blueprint.

Our mechanical engineers sorted out all dimensions from the handwritten draft, following content has been planned in detail:
- Thread Specs: 1/2 NPT male external thread & 1/2 NPT female internal thread, ensuring the 1/2 NPT (M) and (F) threads were modeled for perfect fitment.
- Geometric Accuracy: Incorporating the hexagonal base for easy installation and wrenching.
- Tolerances: Defining critical dimensions like the Ø12 and Ø6.6 diameters to ensure functional integrity. Tolerance is ±0.02.
- Total length: 37mm hexagonal section + 140mm long slender rod. Controlled inner hole depth on the rod end
We converted the rough sketch into a standardized engineering drawing to eliminate dimensional ambiguity before production.

In this case, the client required a material that could withstand specific environmental stressors. As specialists in high-performance polymers, we offered a range of solutions including PEEK, PTFE, POM, PCTFE, PFA, and PVDF. The final product is made of PEEK—a material that meets the highest standards—featuring a smooth surface finish and precise internal geometry.
We compared the design against traditional metal components (as seen in our comparison photos) and optimized the machining paths for plastic. By adjusting the transition zones and internal hole depths, we ensured the part would maintain structural stability under pressure while reducing material waste and machining time—saving the client both time and money.

- CMM Testing: Utilizing our Three-Coordinate Measuring Machine to verify every dimension against the engineering drawing.
- Roughness Meters: Ensuring the surface finish met the specific requirements for the application.
